About NDIS Guide
NDIS Guide (ndisguide.au) is an independent Australian website dedicated to helping NDIS participants, families, and carers navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme with confidence.
The NDIS is one of the most significant social programs in Australian history — but it’s also one of the most complex. Between funding categories, plan management options, assistive technology assessments, and provider choices, even experienced participants can find it overwhelming. We built this site to change that.
What We Do
We publish plain-English guides, equipment reviews, and funding explainers written specifically for people living with disability and the families and carers who support them. Our content covers everything from how to apply for the NDIS for the first time, through to getting the most out of your plan review, choosing the right assistive technology, and finding providers you can trust.
We don’t publish content written for providers, commissioners, or bureaucrats. Every article on this site is written for the person sitting at the kitchen table trying to work out what they’re entitled to and how to get it.
Who’s Behind NDIS Guide
NDIS Guide is run by an Australian small business operator with a background in healthcare and web services. We’re not affiliated with the NDIA, any registered NDIS provider, or any government body. We have no financial relationship with any provider whose services we discuss, other than the affiliate and referral arrangements disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
We live and work in Australia and care about getting this right. The NDIS affects real people’s lives in profound ways, and we take our responsibility to provide accurate, useful, and unbiased information seriously.
Our Editorial Standards
All content published on NDIS Guide is researched and written with the following principles:
- Accuracy first. We reference the NDIS Act, the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits, and the NDIA’s own operational guidelines wherever possible. When information changes — and it does, regularly — we update our articles.
- No conflicts of interest. Our equipment reviews and provider guides are editorially independent. We do not accept payment to feature, recommend, or positively review any product or service. Where we earn affiliate commissions from product links, this is clearly disclosed.
- Plain English. We avoid jargon. Where technical terms are necessary, we explain them. Our goal is for a first-time NDIS participant with no prior knowledge to be able to read any article on this site and walk away genuinely informed.
- Up to date. NDIS pricing, rules, and policies change frequently. We review our most-read articles regularly and publish the date each article was last updated at the top of every page.
A Note on Professional Advice
The content on NDIS Guide is general information only. It is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. Every NDIS participant’s situation is different, and we strongly encourage you to speak with a qualified Support Coordinator, NDIS Local Area Coordinator, or disability advocate for advice specific to your circumstances.
If you’re unsure about something in your NDIS plan, the NDIA’s helpline is available on 1800 800 110.
